I am trying to get my 22" lcd monitor to work as a tv. I currenty have it hooked up to my HDTV reciever via.....hdmi out -> hdmi to dvi adaptor -> dvi into my monitor.....this is working great and the picture looks really good but since my house is only pre-wired for component cables to all rooms i cant use hdmi to get it to my bedroom.

now here is my question....i want to use my second tv option on my 9242 expressvu reciever (rca) to either the dvi or vga in on the monitor? would this work?

would one of these do the trick or would the video not work?

or is there a way to convert a cat5 cable into hdmi?or dvi? connection as i have cat5 running to all rooms also

I ordered one of those from Mono Price just for the heck of it for $3 and all I got from my HD DVD player was a green picture. I'm not sure the pins are set up properly?
