We watched some movies on New Years eve on the projector and I haven't been back down there until today. When I walked in the theater room I heard the fan on the projector running. I went over to inspect it and the power light was on with the fan running but the lamp was off. I couldn't get it to shut off without unplugging it. Once I reset it it seems fine.

I know I turned everything off before we went to bed that night. I suppose there is a very slight chance that one of the kids hit a button on the remote but I really don't think so, the 9 year old knows not to touch anything and the 3 year old is never down there alone. Any other ideas what might have caused this? Any of you had this happen with your Optoma?

The same thing happened to me a week or so ago. I don't think it causes any damage. It only happened once. I have owned the machine for over a year now. It has about 600 hours on it.

Thanks Cyrano, at least I know it isn't just me :) Kind of strange though, I read these forums a lot and have never heard of this happening before. Like you said, I wouldn't think it hurts anything since the lamp isn't lit, at least I hope not.

I've had mine for a little over a year also but only have about 250 hours on it, guess I need subscribe to netflix.
