im currently looking to buy a new display, and i have a few questions hopefully you guys could answer. I hope i can pick your brains.

Is 1080p really that critical for fpjs?
From my understanding 1080p becomes much more of an issue when you have a larger screen/viewing distance. ie anything over 70in.

How does the VW60 compare to the AW15?
if i were to purchase a fpj, i am thinking of buying sony's aw15. The price is almost too good to pass up. Would the vw60 be really worth all that extra cash? If there is a huge difference i would be willing to set some more money aside.

how does the image quality of projectors in general compare to rptvs?
aw15 vs 60A3000 vs vw60 for example, how would they match up?

since this would be my first fpj, is there anything i should know? What would have you guys done differently your first time around?

thanks

Don't buy anything less than a 1080p projector, unless maybe your screen is 92" viewed from 15 feet or something. You need all the resolution that front projectors and HD images are capable of!!!

If you have a budget problem, folks are swarming over the Mits HC4900 right now which after rebate is much less than $2K. Certainly a great starter projector--my first as well--and I was gonna get an HC6000 which is more in line with the VW60.

Buy the most expensive 1080p projector that fits your budget.
