Washington will win if ...
Todd Collins continues to play relatively error-free football at quarterback. Young Jason Campbell committed 20 turnovers in the first 12 games as the Redskins stumbled to a 5-7 start. Collins has committed two turnovers, both fumbles, in the final four games for a 4-0 finish.

Seattle will win if ...
Seattle can spread the field with four healthy wide receivers. Deion Branch, Nate Burleson, Bobby Engram and D.J. Hackett have all had 100-yard receiving games this season, but the Seahawks never seemed to have more than three available at any time. The four present a defensive nightmare.

KEYS TO TODAY'S GAME

1. Smash-mouth football
Joe Gibbs has won Super Bowls with the running game – and it's the legs of Clinton Portis that have fueled this December surge. He has carried the ball at least 20 times in each of the last three games and rushed for 100-plus yards in two of them. The Seahawks have a top-12 run defense and have not allowed a 100-yard rusher in 11 games.

2. Power vs. power
Two Pro Bowlers square off on the edge when Seattle defensive end Patrick Kerney rushes the passer against Washington left tackle Chris Samuels. The two times Collins has turned the ball over this season have been on fumbles. Kerney led the NFC with 14 ½ sacks and forced fumbles on five of them. If the ball starts bouncing, Washington will be bounced from the playoffs.

3. Kick it away
The Redskins rank in the top six in both kickoff and punt coverage, but those units will face their stiffest test of the season. Seattle has returned two kickoffs and one punt for touchdowns, with Nate Burleson running back one of each. The Jets' Leon Washington returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown against the Redskins in November.

PQ looks okay for OTA in Miami. I'm seeing macroblocking during fast movements.

Is anyone else getting a horrible DD5.1 mix from the Redskins-Seahawks game? Seems like crowd noise is only coming from the rears, commentators from the center, feature music is almost inaudible and there are virtually no LFE effects to speak of...

They just did the starting lineups, and we couldn't hear anything apart from a very quiet rumble from the sub. :( Some commercials are the same way, while other commercials come in just fine.

The All-American High School football game earlier was the same way.

WNBC SD (ch. 4) seems unaffected, but then that's just Dolby Pro Logic.

It's really killing our enjoyment of the game.

For me, it seems the center and rears are just fine, but the L/R fronts are completely dead.

And then they go to a feature package, and sound goes away completely save for some subtle LFE action.

But even when the sound is there, we're only getting commentators and the crowd, no on-field audio, no music, no sfx. :(

I think you're right. I think I'm only getting sound out of the center channel though my receiver swears it's receiving a 5.1 signal.

PQ is not looking good, I have seen better from NBC in the past. Some of the cameras have not been shaded properly, the lockoff in the corner way way overexposured on the first shot from it. Sounds is off as well.

Sound is less than impressive...SNF has fantastic audio in comparison...PQ is OK...No complaints there...

Someone needs to go into the stands and stifle the woman that keeps wailing like a siren on every play! Very annoying...and I'm only listening on my TV's speakers. It must sound worse on a decent sound system.

Sound is horrid, center way to hot, nothing out of rears. I have to turn it down during commercials so we dont get blasted. PQ is so so with the occasional blocking. Poor effort put forth by NBC on this one, hopefully it will be better in the second game.

PQ is fair at best. There's some ghosting, but definitley 100X better than the HS All-American game earlier.

Sorry it worked out that way. Pitt is nice. A little misty, but we've been so cold the last month or so, we'll take it.

PQ on WDIV/Detroit via DirecTV is awful. There is ghosting, and lots of macroblocking. It's bordering on unwatchable.

Watching WKYC-DT, Cleveland, one WeatherPlus sub on a 50" 1080p plasma.

PQ is typical NBC so-so quality. Closeups look good but the 20/50/20 yard cams soft, noticing a bit of a red fringe on the Redskins uniforms from those angles. Macroblocky/artifacty with motion but not a total PQ disaster.

Agree with the others on the audio PQ, completely lifeless, not much from the rears.

Chris Collinsworth seems to be a bit more enthusiastic this week without Bryant Gumbel.

Bitrate of tonight's NFL game. Looks every bit as bad as it shows. All but 1 minute of this was during the actual game.

Why is it so many shots look like you are looking through a gel?

Video quality was much worse than last weekend. NBC should be ashamed to put out a product with so many pixelization issues during movement.

my local NBC Madison, WI station pumps out over 17mbps and it still pixelates like hell during football. NBC is just the pits.

Fixed the audio problem. Turns out my receiver had the front L/R speakers turned off completely. Soon as I turned them back on, the sound was fine (though the center was still kinda hot.)

Looked like crap OTA here. And I don't mean the Redskins play.

You guys are worse than the women on the view. All you do is sit there in your living room and trash out the shows and the jobs the professionals are doing. If you could do it better you would be at the site instead of sitting in your living room with a keyboard in your hands.

Anyways, if you are happy with the sub par HD PQ from NBC and FOX fine. Let us people who enjoy high definition quality moan when we see it.
