I just got an HD80 for Christmas and need help choosing a screen.

I was thinking about a High Power screen since my projector will be ceiling mounted. The PJ right now is mounted up high 8' ceiling.

Some ambient lighting, (ceilings are white)

I know that the HP's sweetspot is right at eye level and that a ceiling mounted PJ wouldn't realize a lot of that benefit.

What are good options for screens for the HD80? I am looking at between 106" to 110"

thanks!

Im in the same boat.

I am going with the High Contrast White Matte Da-lite just to be safe. I considered the HP but thought it might be too bright for the PJ.

Good Luck!

If you are ceiling mounting the HP is the wrong screen...its retroreflective which means you have to have the projector on level with your head to get the most good out of it...seach the screen thread for "HP Calculator", in my 8' ceiling mount setup the 2.8 gain HP screen will only produce 1.2 gain...I could easily get more gain from an Elite Powergain 1.5 or something similar which in angular reflective and prefers ceiling mount set ups.

Hope this helps...
