Yes, Blood Simple and Miller's Crossing would kick ass. You can buy Lebowski on HD-DVD.

Flash Gordon...restored, complete with Queen soundtrack. It's just fun to look at and listen to.

Football Fight would sound great in 5.1.

DeathRay

Star Struck (an aussie movie from the 80s). Puberty Blues. In fact any aussie movies would be welcome (except maybe the crocodile dundee series).

Orgasmo.

Rushmore.

Welcome to the Dollhouse.

Gladiator

Master and Commander

Braveheart

LOTR

Patriot

Titanic

Gangs of New York

Schindler's list.....

Because all of these will be released on HD or BD but the more obscure, offbeat ones never will. Heck, Phantom is only available on black market DVD-Rs and R&R HS barely made it to DVD.

Thanks for playing though ;)

I know, but for convenience and PQ quality, HD does or seems to do much more for intense titles with great scenery and action, but your point is valid. As good as HDNet does, the ones I mentioned will or hopefully will look amazing on HDM.

Here’s an eclectic few off the top of my head…

North by Northwest
A Fish Called Wanda
Patton
Mary Poppins
Citizen Kane
The Adventures of Robin Hood
A Hard Day’s Night
Day for Night
Swing Time (or any Astaire/Rogers movie)

But can some one please answer the question; does HDnet base their presentations on reading what someone posts, off the top of their head, on this forum?. Is that how it works?

Point taken, but the channel has to get more viewers than those that appreciate the nuances of "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park". It's OK to throw those more obscure ones in there, but you can't program entirely around them. You need some more mainstream titles to get people in, then give them stuff they won't see anywhere else to get the loyal following.

That being said, I'd like to see the originals of some of the remakes that have been made:

- The Thomas Crown Affair
- The Italian Job
- Gone in 60 Seconds
- Cheaper By the Dozen
- Desperate Hours
- The Haunting
- The Poseidon Adventure
- Village of the Damned
- Cape Fear
- Logan's Run (scheduled to be remade)
- The Day the Earth Stood Still (scheduled to be remade)
- Flight of the Phoenix

I'd also like to see some other classics (new and old) presented properly like:

- The Longest Day
- A League of Their Own (this one always gets a crapping pan and scan treatment)
- Grand Pix
- The Jerk
- The Big Bus
- Something Wicked This Way Comes
- Duma
- Millions
- In America
- The Courtship of Eddie's Father
- North By Northwest
- The Monster Squad
- This is Spinal Tap
- Pete's Dragon
- The Graduate
- Silverado
- The Usual Suspects
- Anatomy of a Murder
- Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
- The Great Escape
- Cloak and Dagger (1946)
- The Window (1949)
- The Kid From Left Field
- Tron

I may be wrong, but I think that many on your list are already playing this month:
Silverado
A League of their Own
The Graduate

And I think The Great Escape was on earlier.

I didn't look at the schedule when I made the list, so I'm sure I probably hit on some that are scheduled or have been. It's good to hear, though.

You can't really get enough of any of those, really. ;)

Oh, I agree that they need mainstream stuff, I have have both Ronin and Le Mans set to "Do NOT Delete", but HDNM are the ONLY channel that would be intelligent enough to show "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park". No nuances needed, its a horrible, wonderful movie. Its not like I requested Surf Nazis Must Die or Repo Man......Hmmmmm, dead aliens in the trunk.

I think that more obvious movies such as The Patriot (although I think the CGI was terribly obvious) and Gladiator and its huge grain don't fit the scope of my intent merely because they certainly will end up in HD or BD.

Tron & Tap, however, can be on my list :D

I agree on Gladiator and The Patriot - those have been overshown elsewhere.

i have not seen Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park since it's original air date back in the 70's that would be funny to see again.
