Just a heads up if anyone needs to renew their subscription... Dell has a $25 off coupon off of something over $25, you can get off of eBay for about $2 and use it towards the 12+1 card. I purchased mine for about $26, $28 total if you include the code. But roughly $2.15 for 13 months is a good deal IMO. :D

And don't quote me on this, but I think you can use it towards the games and other accessories they have. I'm going to try again, for $2 it's worth a shot at getting $25 off something else.

On the Xbox Live tab, click your name, then account management, then memberships. And if you've entered a code for Xbox Live from a card, you'll be able to see it, click on it's info, and see when it expires. I think you can have like 2 to 3 years paid in advanced, either way you'd be safe.

You can put your codes in in advance. I did this with 2 one month cards they sent back with my first 2 RRoD consoles. It extended my renew time 2 months into the future.

You can have up to 36 months total for Xbox live (so yes, you add the 13 months on top of your existing amount provided that it does not add up to over 36 months. If it does, wait till you are less than 23 months and then add the 13 months. As far as I know, the codes themselves do not have an expiration date).

I ordered 1 code, got immediate response (in less than 5 minutes), used the code, and bought Fight Night Round 3 ($29.99) for a total just over $12 (includes shipping and taxes and $2 for the code). I do not want to get greedy, but maybe I will get another code and order another game. There are plenty of other things to get (extra controllers, dual charge kits, the im keyboard, etc).

I know I did a similar thing when ordering the Mass Effect Limited Collector's Edition through Amazon and they shipped it to my friend but let me pay for it. My parents often see my friends in the US and they can bring it back and then ship it to me via Canada Post. Or I can get it next time I see them.

All in all, I wish Dell would be more consistent with both pricing and availability of items at their US and Canadian stores. And here's hoping my round-about way of taking advantage of the coupon works! :)

Be AWARE.. that if you buy something for less than $25.. even though your cart and sales receipt will show the coupon being applied, Dell will screw you when they process the order and charge your card. I spent 30 minutes on the phone today because my CC denied a $29 charge due the fact Dell only authorized $5.70 during the checkout process. They tried to charge the full amount to my card and it got caught. I had to talk to 3 people with very thick accents to get it all straightened out and get a new coupon code issued. A Royal PAIN! :mad:

if you're some sort of dell member (EPP or something like that), you can apply for a coupon every so often, the ebay sellers exploit a glitch and get thousands of coupons.... so while the codes are legit, the method of getting them isn't, and i'd say they have every right to do what they can to not LOSE money.

and an update, my order status page says 2 of my 5 orders shipped, and the other 3 are still "in production", with an estimated shipped date of the 8th for the messenger kit, and the 21st for my two batteries and saints row.

the two that shipped were the quick charge kit and ghost recon 2.


i'd also like to note, that if i knew yesterday what i know now, i would not have tried to exploit the system with immorally acquired coupons.

I thought the codes just came from companies that bought a ton of computers between nov and dec. The one item I did order shipped and I have two coupons sitting oh well. All I was saying is was if the coupons are real and sitting there then they should expect someone to use them if they are illegal then that is another story.

i really like the chatpad, i have big hands (read: bear claws) and it adds a little more surface on the back to grip on.

So as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I called support and after 30 minutes talking to 4 different people, I was told I'd get a replacement coupon. After a few days passed, I just got my money back for 3rd code and figured the 2nd code was toast.

I ended up getting a consolation coupon from Dell for $25. Woot. Tonight I used it to buy a 100pk of Verbatim 16X DVDR+ discs for $11 shipped. They have an $11 rebate.. so free!
