I have just finished baking my 360 with a heat gun for the second time, so I could now run my HQV Benchmark SD-DVD.
THE RESULTS FOR XBOX 360 UPSCALING----
Color bar/vertical detail --SCORE-- 10
Jaggies pattern 1+2 --SCORE-- 0 TO 3
The jaggies were considered very bad in my opinion. Starting at about 30 degrees.
Flag --SCORE-- 0
Again, there were far too many jaggies
Picture detail -- SCORE-- 5
This test may very from tv to tv. My lcd is only 720p. The picture looked soft and lacking detail compared to my sony crt.
Noise Reduction--SCORE-- This test to me, looks the same on every DVD player, including my OPPO. However, the images looked soft on the 360 with a little more noise, but not much more.
Motion adaptive noise reduction-- SCORE-- Again, this test depends alot on the tv you are using and does not necessarily point to the 360 for the end result. I will not score this one.
3:2 DETECTION--SCORE-- 0
The MOIRE in the grandstands is constant and very noticeable.
Film Cadence--Score--0
None of these tests passed for me with jittering lines in the coffee cup.
Mixed film with video titles--SCORE--5
Titles appear to be intact with jaggies in the background.
These tests were conducted with xbox 360 vga 1280x720p out to a lcd 1280x720p native resolution tv. These scores represent my opinion in what I saw in the tests. I choose the native rate of the display, so It should have bypassed the processor in the tv(at least to my knowledge).
