Hi, I have some troubles calibrating my dell 2007wfp monitor with i1 Display LT and HCFR, the problem is after I calibrate the monitor, I have a very dark picture when playing DVDs, i lost lots details i used to see with the default settings.

im playing the HCFR DVD via mindows media player. I set reference gamma to 2.2, color standard sRGB, display gamma with black compensation. after calibrating, I got average gamma of 2.2 and 442:1 contrast in the gray scale window, and the deltaE is 0. but when playing movies, the picture is very dark and the details are worse.

I did a rearch on the forum/web, I see people saying "Update: HCFR reads gamma differently than we’re used to: its 2.2 is really 2.5–6 (too dark); when you select “from standard” just match the curve in the gamma chart, the number you’re shooting for (to achieve the 2.2 HDTV gamma target) is around 1.9."

so does it mean I want to have the average gamma reading of 1.9 even I set the reference gamma to 2.2?

also, is it better to use 'camera gamma with standard offset' for PC monitors/TV and 'display gamma with black compensation' for Projectors.

Thanks in advance for any inputs :)
