It will paired with RTi8s and a CSi3 (not sure if that matters, but the info is there should anyone need it). This will mainly be for movies.
Bang for buck is what I'm after. Any suggestions?
I don't know much about setting crossover frequencies, so help with that would be great as well.
I'm looking somewhere between $200-$300, but am willing to consider higher if there are considerable gains.
Below $300 Bic H-100($240 shipped from ebay). If you can stretch it upto $375 ed A2-300 is a great sub.

How do these compare to the Polk? I like the idea of being able to return it to the store should something go wrong. If the internet brands are that much better, I'll probably get a sub from them.

Which Polk? Though to be honest, it shouldn't really matter. It's my opinion (and many here will agree) that Polk's subwoofers, while not terrible, certainly aren't at or near the top of their respective price classes. The Bic is better than any Polk subwoofer you'll find for under $250 (unless you practically steal an expensive used one off of someone), and the eD A2-300 is generally regarded to be the best bang for your buck under $400. I'd pass on the Polk, if I were you.
As far as being able to return it to the store, I agree that's convenient. However, these ID brands like SVS, Hsu, eD, etc stand behind their products and will always be helpful in the rare event something goes awry with your sub. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good luck!

I've got the PSW110, but paid ~$100 for it. It should be sufficient until I'm ready to upgrade. When ready, I should be able to get what I paid for it.

I will put another vote for the BIC H-100. I just got one, and have been extremely pleased with it's performance. You won't regret getting one.
