View Full Version : Motocross on Speed HD Smthkd 01-05-08, 10:29 PM Title says it all! Todd 01-05-08, 10:33 PM Awesome dtv757 01-05-08, 10:40 PM good post... i just went to check it and it looks good... jefbal99 01-05-08, 10:53 PM my rear speakers are very active with engine noise from the bikes. great pic and sound hunter65 01-05-08, 11:21 PM cool. Gordon Shumway 01-05-08, 11:22 PM yay :) Speedskater 01-06-08, 10:31 AM What providers carry Speed HD? jefbal99 01-06-08, 11:19 AM What providers carry Speed HD? I believe D* is the only one so far filtor 01-07-08, 02:34 AM I wonder how much auto racing in the coming summer will actually be HD? Anyone heard anything? jefbal99 01-07-08, 08:27 AM One thing that caught me odd was the scrolling bar for position at the top of the screen. It filled the 16x9 frame, but the names only scrolled to the left edge of the 4x3 protected frame. This reminds me of when Speed would have Cup qualifying in SD, but SportsCenter would get the HD backhaul and show that for highlights. Did the same thing then. TeacherMan 01-07-08, 10:09 AM If they do Sebring in HD I'll stay home and watch it and avoid the traffic and drunks. jefbal99 01-07-08, 10:51 AM If they do Sebring in HD I'll stay home and watch it and avoid the traffic and drunks. No way to find out, until the event goes live. Nothing on the SpeedTV.com website except for the press releases about Speedweeks in Daytona starting SpeedHD. I'm surprised they didn't note that the Supercross was in HD this past weekend. Smthkd 01-07-08, 01:05 PM Season opener of Motocross/Supercross was covered entirely in HD for those who missed it! SPACEMAKER 01-07-08, 01:24 PM No way to find out, until the event goes live. Nothing on the SpeedTV.com website except for the press releases about Speedweeks in Daytona starting SpeedHD. I'm surprised they didn't note that the Supercross was in HD this past weekend. There was an article on Speed's website on January 2nd. If not for these message boards I probably would have missed out on seeing SpeedHD. SPACEMAKER 01-07-08, 01:28 PM One thing that caught me odd was the scrolling bar for position at the top of the screen. It filled the 16x9 frame, but the names only scrolled to the left edge of the 4x3 protected frame. They do the same thing on FSNHD during the Red Wing games. The other thing that was odd was the position of the logo when there was no scroll. I'm sure they will make some tweaks and create a special SpeedHD logo for the bottom right. Overall, I was very pleased with how they did considering it was their first HD broadcast. They will be a well oiled machine by the time Speedweeks begin next month. dtv757 01-12-08, 12:56 PM here is a picture from that show on SPEED HD!! as someone said above notice how the graphics are centered for 4:3 viewers... http://i15.tinypic.com/8g4f49y_th http://i15.tinypic.com/8g4f49y.jpg pic taken using: HTC-dash this program was recorded on 1-5-08; using D* HR20 viewing D*HD channel 607 SPACEMAKER 01-14-08, 10:26 AM Last night's broadcast of the Pheonix event was in HD. I was very happy to see that they utilized HD for something other than a live event. Again, the HD looked great, They still need to tweak the graphics but overall they are doing a great job.:) |
