Sports have much higher advertising value and better demographics. In addition ESPNHD is a pay service, giving them incentive to produce more in HD, ABC HD is not a pay service.

I agree. HD would have been nice but the content is what mattered.

The source for the debate was an affiliate. Yes it had ABC talent, but was WMUR's show.

It wasn't live in the West Coast either, otherwise I would assume they would've been debating past midnight EST.

It was live here, it ran from 5 to 9 in Phoenix (MST). I found an article that said it started at 7 EST.
