Hello everyone,

I'm near graduation here at school and I have my Samsung HLS-5687W set up that I will need to package up and move. I will be getting my own U-HAUL truck and I will be packing it myself. My question is, can I damage my TV by driving a long distance with all the rattling and shakiness of the truck?

I'm basically looking for a way to get my TV to my destination(Orlando, FL to somewhere in the Northeast) safely. I wouldn't feel comfortable packing the TV myself unless there was something I could do to ensure that it will not be damaged. Does anyone know of any services that will do this or have any tips on packing up my tv? I kept the large plasticish bag that the TV was covered in and I figured I could start from there.

Normal driving will induce a lot of shock and vibration to the display. First cover the display with the original plastic bag, then utilize a large roll of bubble wrap with large bubbles to apply completely around the display more then a single layer, especially the bottom, that will help protect the display on the road.

Thanks, I will definetly do that. I have a tempurpedic matress that I was going to lay it on, maybe that will help with the vibrations. Do you think the bubble wrap is all I need to do? Also, is it ok if I lay the TV with the screen facing down? It would be wrapped in the plastic bag with bubble wrap and be placed face down on my tempurpedic matress.

Standing upright is the best. If you must lay it flat, best to lay it on its back so debris doesn't accumulate on the inside of the screen. The more layers of padding the better. One big bump can wreck it forever.
