I have a pair of Def Tech ProMonitor 1000s and 800s that need to be wall mounted. The house was pre-wired. Today, when I got up on the ladder to mount them with the Def Tech mounts, I found a hole larger than the Def Tech mounts itself. There was an electrical plate that I had to take off and the screws were the standard length apart that you find on an electrical plate.

So, what wall mounts do I need to get? Or rather...what do I need to do to mount these speakers?

Thanks

Buy a speaker terminal plate. Just run short wires to your Def. Techs.

As in...run the wire through the terminal plate and mount the speaker right next to it?

I think that'll look a little odd...

That's what those are meant for. Of course, you don't have to do that. You could just patch the drywall, the cut the appropriate size hole to mount your speaker and have the speaker wire hidden. I would recommend the same as the first reply and mount your speaker right next to the terminal plate and run a short length of cable to your speaker. Done right...it will still be hidden.
