I am a PS3 owner. It loads BD-J titles fast and will be 2.0 compliant. I am not sure how fast the new Panasonic player is, but that is the only current one I would consider. My fear is that most players take forever to load a disc. Boot time doesn't bother me because I can just leave the player on, but a 2 minute load time is a killer, and more discs are going to be BD-Java.

Alright, thanks for the insight, good stuff...sadly though, it seems you have a valid point, at this moment in time, there is no ideal stand alone player "ready for primetime" - Sony has woven their work well, if you're a resourceful buyer and you do some homework, you'll realize your best bet is a PS3, so no matter the interest, games or movies, you're adopting Blu Ray, Sony gets your green, heh...I'll wait for the right player...probably from Samsung.

I am sorry we are talking about Blu-ray. You know that format who's motto is:

Just as YOU said!
Well, at least a FW release will fix my BD-P1200 playback issue of a handfull of titles whereas a FW update can't fix all those screen ERROR codes, disc freezes or locks encountered daily in the HD DVD player forum.
Those people just won't see those titles on theot players unless they got a combo disc that has the SD on it.

There are multiple Blu-ray players with issues. Many Samsungs and the LG player can not play RotSS or DAT with out an FW update. That update is NOT provided when you buy the player. So now the expensive combos that are 2% of the market are the big deal? Please.Once again, I did not say most of their movies won't play. I said some of the new titles they just bought won't play. Your lack of reading comprehension is really making you look quite foolish now. ;)I find it funny that you claim my reading comprehension is making me look foolish, when you can't even read what you typed and you lied...about your lie.
True - I did say a lot. That still doesn't change anything, and what I stated is still true. ;)No, it changes everything, and as proven, none of what you said is true.

You have not "proven" anything you've stated. The only thing you did was call me a liar, and misquote what I stated. I've proved my points (that 1st link is a biggie), and I've yet to see you prove any of yours.

I swear, you 3 are obviously reading some alternate universe posts that no one else can see. Everyone else can read the proof that you provided to knock yourself down.

Corporate America will try to win Blu-Ray, but the common people (joe schmoe) and all the Jose's who will learn how much cheaper HD DVD is will bring victory for the HD DVD camp! Trust me I know this because I have a lot of cheap buddies who says they will barely dish out the cash for HD DVD if they could this year!

You're a riot, no really, been reading your stuff and grinning from ear to ear, this thread is comic gold now, thanks! I saw not one valid attempt from you to debunk my earlier answer to your request for evidence that Warner favored HD DVD, nor did anyone come to save you, you're hung up on semantics rather than the content bro, who is drinking and posting right now, you, or everyone else in the alternate universe. :D

Guess what - there are still 1st gen BD players out there that can't play that POTC game that I linked to, even with FW updates. You can lie and misquote all you want - it still doesn't change what I've stated.

I never had any problems with any disc on either format. However, I think its safe to say that combos on HD DVD and BD+ or java titles on BD arent working well on players of said formats.

I dont see either side having an outstanding track record in that regard.

You can lie and misquote all you want - it still doesn't change what I've stated.Nope, just what everyone else can see about what you've stated. That's all that's necessary.
Thanks for confirming that for me, now just tell that to JBlacklow.Yeah, I think you missed the sarcasm on that one...

Happen to agree here, one thing *I've* personally never cared about is extras - will help make the switch to Blu painless, and I'm sure theres enough stuff anyway....just gimmie the flick in the best possible PQ though and I'm happy. :)
