I recently purchased a Panasonic 26" LCD HDTV. I couldn't find if the TV was rated for HDMI 1.3, so I called their toll free number, and they said it is in fact 1.3. I ask because I have a PS3 connected to it, which is HDMI 1.3, and when I tried to enable RGB mode full it didn't work properly. I am now thinking it might be my HDMI cables, which I bought from a local store for $10. They don't have a manafacturer label on them so no clue who makes them. I was wondering would it be worth it to buy some HDMI 1.3 rated cables from monoprice.com, would they improve my image being they are rated 1.3? I know most say HDMI cables are all the same, but are HDMI 1.3 cables better then cheapies that of course aren't rated for HDMI 1.3?

Generally, no. Nothing changed about cable design going to 1.3. The only thing that changed was that the compliance testing spec became a bit tighter. This would not have anything to do with your colorspace issue, which most likely has to do with the source and the display, not the cable.

By the way, if you want to figure out where the cable came from and there is an "E-code" on the jacket lettering, you can look that up at UL.com; see our article at http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/where-does-hdmi-cable-come-from.htm
