Hello all. I have scanned various Sammy DLP threads and found an OFFICIAL HL-S thread and an OFFICIAL HL-Txx89 LED thread.. but none for this model. And no thread I have found seems to address this lag / stutter / shaky picture problem I have seen on this HL-T6756W.
What I (meaning my brother, its his setup) have.
HL-T6756W (purcahsed from Costco in August with that coupon deal)
TivoHD w 2 cablecards (Comcast in central NJ) (now connected to HDMI/DVI)
XBOX360 (via component)
Toshiba HD-A3 HD/DVD (now connected to HDMI)
I have tried a variety of settings so explaining what it is now set to is rather pointless... so lets get to the problem description.
PROBLEM: When watching football yesterday.. 1080i broadcasts.. the image stuttered as if it were dropping frames.. stutter, strobe, shake, lag.. whatever you want to call it.. it was ugly.. It was most noticeable in the zoomed out views showing kickoffs.
1) I do not know what this is called so I am having trouble looking for a solution.
2) The problem had been seen before.. but I thought switching cables with the DVD player "fixed" the problem.
Now.. about that prior "fix".. the following occurred... I unplugged the wrong cable from the Tivo by mistake causing it to need to reboot. So, now I am not sure whether it was the cold boot of both the TivoHD and the TV that "fixed" the problem or whether it was switching cables/inputs to the TV.
In any case.. it does not seem the problem (whatever it is called) is fixed at all as it is back. And yesterday I tried everything EXCEPT a cold boot of any device.. which I have advised they try today.
So.. and advice for me on how to proceed? I have so many questions.
A) What is the problem called?
B) Was it the cold boot that "fixed" the problem?
C) Is there a firmware update that addresses this? How do I get the update?
D) Is the problem deeper than that and should a repair call be made and since the problem may be intermittent.. how do I make sure a repair tech would see the problem when he arrives?
Thanks in advance.. it really hurt my brain and eyes to try to watch that stuttering picture.
