I've owned a JVC HD-52Z575 for about 2.5 years, and in the past year I experienced the following problem: When I power on the TV, thin vertical light-blue lines (about 2mm in width) appear across the whole screen uniformly separated by about 3cm (1.25 inches). When the problem first occurred about a year ago, the lines disappeared after about 5-10 minutes or so. Now it takes much longer for the lines to disappear - maybe closer to 1/2 hour or 45 minutes. The lines tend to disappear more quickly when the TV has been used more recently.
Does anyone have a thought whether this is an easily salvageable problem? I brought in a repair technician when I first noticed the problem, but he claimed that it would be cheaper to replace the TV rather than repair it (he claimed that the problem might be with the LCD power supply, the digital board, or both). If all else fails, I would consider upgrading to a new LCD TV, but I was hoping to get some thoughts before splurging on a new TV.
Thanks in advance.
