Yes Warner going BD exclusive is a huge blow, but do you really think HD is just going to give up? If this war has taught us anything it's that we never really know what shocking news is going to be next.
Now I know it's a big time for BD, but seriously.. Can we at least reduce the number of "it's over sell your hardware", "what are you doing with your HD-junk" threads here?
A new thread to bemoan the number of threads is an amusing strategy.

I'm confused: your title says it's over but "we never really know what shocking news is going to be next." ...So, it's not quite over right ?
Yeah, but the OP makes a good point. Every time a studio makes a format choice, or a manufacturer annouces a newer, less costly piece of hardware the shills on both sides of the 'war' pop out of the woodwork proclaiming some variation on 'it's over'. Up to now, ALL of those proclamations have been wrong. Wouldn't hurt this time around to see what really happens over the next 3-6 months.

Sony is definitely going to shock us all and go format neutral. Just watch!

I'll have to shamelessly steal this quote from Gary Whitta at GAF because it applies perfectly.
I guess because there is no longer any such thing as "HD-DVD vs Blu-ray", at least not in any meaningful way. HD-DVD exponents at this point are like the 90 year-old Japanese soldiers they occasionally find holed up deep in the jungles of the far east with no knowledge that WWII has been over for decades.
