hi,
I have my xbox 360 hooked up to my 24" Acer x241w LCD monitor with the VGA cable - it's native resolution is 1920 x 1200 (16:10 ratio)

When i choose 1920 x 1080 resolution in the Dashboard, my monitor's OCD reports it's recieving a 1280 x 1024 signal.

Did i choose the best resolution?

thanks!

My LCD monitors rez is 16x10, i just use 1280x720. Sucks cuz we're still waiting for an answer to this problem from MS.

when i used to play on my monitor, the best results i got were with the 1280x1024 mode. i overscanned the sides a little to make up for the difference between 16:10 an 16:9.

I think that it matters how your monitor treats the signal and reports back to the Xbox 360. I just bought the VGA cable and selected 1900x1080, and my monitor (A Dell 2407W) reports that it's receiving a 1900x1080 signal at 60hz. I instructed my monitor to display the image in its native resolution, so I have black bars on the top and bottom.

hi,
i now have my xbox hooked up to a LCD computer monitor w/ a native resolution of 1920x1200 (using a HDMI to DVI adapter cable)

in the dashboard i picked 1920x1080 resolution, figuring that is the closest to my monitor's native resolution of 1920x1200

but i'm getting horizontal lines like this:

the lower resolutions do not have these lines.

any help would be greatly appreciated!
