Picked up the PS3 remote at Best Buy on Friday... Took it home, popped in the batteries, tried to use it and nothing worked... Instruction manual was no use... Changed the batteries, still no luck... So I returned it and told them it was dead out of the box.... Bought a new one, same problem...

So I guess the issue is me... How do I get this thing working? I held down the Playstation button on the remote for a few seconds thinking I would need to do that to get the PS3 to recognize it (much like the controllers) still no luck...

You have to register it as you would your headset. It doesn't work like the controllers until you sync up via the bluetooth settings.

Go into the PS3 settings and follow the instructions under Register Bluetooth Device> Remote.
