For the past 2 years I have been using my Dayton 12" downfiring subwoofer(sub 120 pre front firing) with great success. Lately I have been going thru a spending spree and have upgraded alot of my components and got to contemplating switching to a new sub in my HT and moving my older dayton to my family room as I have just got 5.1 setup in it and am in need of some bass.

So my theater is as follows:

Room size = 20x17x8
Current components
Polk Rti 10s for the fronts
Polk Csi 5 for the center
polk tc615is in walls in the rear
dayton sub 12" sub-120
onkyo 605

I am thinking of getting a BIC-H100 or polk 505 but am wondering if this is going to give me any noticable difference over the current setup. The bass in my current setup gets a little muddy in the lower ranges. I am looking to tighten up this as well as give me some more solid impace.

This is for HT only will not be used for music.

Looking for advice on whether these subs are worth the extra money to upgrade or would I need to spend more $ to get what I am looking for?

Thanks in advance

what is your budget?

Never heard sub-120 but used to have Bic and it was very good. Not sure its going to be a big stepup. Look at entry level SVs/HSU/ed subs.

second for Whats the Budget?

I also have one of the older Dayton 12's. How does the new one compare?

I had thought about adding second but it would be one of the new front firing subs maybe that would be an option if they match.

my budget is $250 - $400

I really don't want to go more than that but thanks for any suggestions.
