What's the right way to do this? I have 1 output on my receiver for subs, do I hook up a Y splitter male with 2 female ends and then just hook the subs up like that?

I have 1 output on my receiver for subs, do I hook up a Y splitter male with 2 female ends and then just hook the subs up like that? Correct. I'm in a new house with a very open floor plan. I have a Mirage S12 sub which I'm very happy with. Having said that, I wondered if I'd get some additional "oomph" for movies with a second sub. I also have a Mirage S10 in a second system. So, I stacked the S10 on top of the S12. Instead of putting the y connector on the receiver and running another long sub cable, I put the y connector on the existing sub cable using an RCA female x female coupling, then used two short interconncts to the subs. Works great; I'll be leaving the S10 stacked on the S12. |
