I have a Marantz DV6400 DVD player (US Version Region 1). I have the UK Version of TV show not yet available in the US. I used DVD Region Free to remove the region encoding and then burnt it as 'universal' to a Memorex DVD+R DL disc. I can play this disc on my XBox 360 and on my computer, but all I get when I attempt to play it on my Marantz is 'playback feature may not be available on this disc'. I tried burning it as Region 1 and the same result. I tried shrinking the file and burning it to a TDK DVD-R and I get the same result.

It seems to me the Marantz should be compatible with this format but it is not working. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a problem with my choice of DVD player?

Thanks for any assistance.

Is that a PAL format disc? And does the Marantz play PAL discs? If not, you'll need to do some sort of PAL->NTSC conversion.
