|
View Full Version : XBLA titles for this week(1/9/08) logicalnoise 01-07-08, 01:15 PM Omega Five(800Msps) and Tron(400(msps) Morkeleb 01-07-08, 01:28 PM Tron=sold! I would like to find out about how well it controls though. So Tron=Most likely sold! SuperGrafx 01-07-08, 04:16 PM Omege Five is a must-buy for anyone who grew up playing (and still loves) arcade shooters. Sure took Tron a while to surface...they reviewed that game in a summer issue of OXM I believe. whiskey > work 01-07-08, 04:28 PM buying both, that is if live is working  dub273 01-07-08, 04:46 PM Sure took Tron a while to surface...they reviewed that game in a summer issue of OXM I believe.Yup, I was just thinking about Tron, how it had been reviewed months and months ago, and wondering when they'd get around to putting it out. I'm looking forward to the implementation of the aiming system via the analog stick ("absolute aim", I think it was called?), because I still haven't found a good solution to play the game properly in MAME. RTRic 01-08-08, 10:17 PM Loves me some tron!!! Vincent Kennedy 01-09-08, 09:09 AM TRON!!!!! NO WAY!!!! Great, my wife has been complaining she is a Catan and COD4 Widow. Wait untill I D/L Tron. My Toddler may be graduating college before I see either of them again! (Well at least untill my son starts playing video games)... Morkeleb 01-09-08, 09:23 AM I strongly recommend DLing the Tron demo before buying. I'm have trouble with the controls. I plan on playing the demo more to see if I can get used to them. Basically depending on which way you move the right thumb stick determines if the aiming device (arm, turret) rotates clockwise or counterclockwise. So pointing up doesn't always aim up. A paddle type controller like the arcade game would be nice. Update- In the control section you can select absolute aim which ups the aiming speed and this helps some. Morkeleb 01-09-08, 09:35 AM I will add that I never played Omega Five until now and I'm considering buying it. The demo rocks! whiskey > work 01-09-08, 10:30 AM cant wait to try omega 5 dling now whiskey > work 01-09-08, 12:15 PM OK, just played Tron and Omega 5. I wasn't that big a fan of Tron, I think I was more mystified with it as a kid with that spacey cabinet it used to come in. The game never did much for me unfortunately. Omega 5 is very impressive. I think the gameplay is unique (except it is a forgotten world clone), but this formula hasn't been done in years. The music is terrible to say the least, but I only played the demo, so it may get better (or you could shut it off). Great gameplay! I am thinking about buying this, very close. Graphics are very colorful and no slowdown despite tons going on. Oh and the grapple hook that the girl has is really cool and unique. This thing shoots out of her over and over and hooks onto things and destroys them. Very cool. If any game is worth 800 points, I think this is it, depending on how long it is. ClayPigeon 01-09-08, 04:06 PM Hey whiskey remember when i said save your points instead of getting metal slug 3 or AH and wait for Omega five? well i was wrong. Played it earlier today at a friends house who got it and it's not that good imo. Seemed unfinished and just wasn't what i expected it to be. If you liked the demo though then by all means get it, i was just expecting more. whiskey > work 01-09-08, 07:03 PM Hey whiskey remember when i said save your points instead of getting metal slug 3 or AH and wait for Omega five? well i was wrong.
