First new episode of Season four tonight (1/7/2007)!:D
From TitanTV: "In the Season 4 premiere, Allison has creepy visions of a boy being kidnapped from a toy store. Banished from her DA job because her psychic abilities were made public, Allison turns to a private investigator (Anjelica Huston) to help find the child. Meanwhile, young Ariel tries to score the lead role in a school play; and a jobless Joe goes searching for employment."

I still like the show. I liked Journeyman more, however.

Word!

Still Medium has the most interesting openings of almost any show.
Whatever happened to the drunk thread or whatever it was called...

That was definately a unique opening.

How did they all get into such a sad state?

Everything came apart the last 4-5 eps of last season, that creative opening sequence was a way to bring viewers up to date.

The tone of the show has taken a really sad element to it. The show has always dealt with some downer crimes, but the family always seemed up beat. Now every seems miserable.

Well, look at the bright side... Joe gets $240/week from the government!:D:D

Was it my set or was the contrast pretty soft in the low light (bedroom) scenes? Daylight/outside stuff was nice and sharp.

Too bad we can't have both!:mad:
Frack NBC for dumping Journeyman! But hey... they were the brain surgeons who canceled Star Trek back in 1969 too.

Amen to that.

Thing is, I've been a fan of Medium since episode 1. The family dynamics seen "real": the dad isn't an idiot and the kids aren't the smart ones running the family with precocious quips. I've found the plots generally entertaining. So, I'm actually glad it is back.

The big HOWEVER, is, like you, I don't see why there can't be room for it and Journeyman. It just seems that there is too much impatience with the "by the numbers" folks. Granted, a show does have to perform. Sometimes it just takes a little longer for word of mouth to get around...especially to convince those viewers who cut out too soon to give a show a second look after it hits its stride.

That's what makes this show so good for me, the family is one of the most realistic portrayals I've ever seen(other than the seeing/hearing ghosts part :p ).

Any word if this is being shown again anywhere?

I somehow deleted this show from my DVR programming when I was dumping some other shows and completely missed it. I didn't realize I wasn't set up to record it until I went in this morning and didn't see it there.

....and you know what? Even that part is handled better than, say Ghost Whisperer where the ghosts are all angry and scary until Melinda gets to know them then they are all sweet and cuddly.

Really.

I still watch it when everything else has been watched, basically because it has some of the best HD PQ on TV.

Yeah, I already bit the bullet and checked it out there since I didn't see any upcoming listings for the next couple of weeks. I was hoping to avoid it since it ties up my computer do watch it that way.

I've also been a fan of this show since Episode 1, for many of the reasons others here have already mentioned above.

Also wish they'd have given Journeyman a better chance. I feel the writer's strike is partly to blame...maybe if they'd have had a chance to tape more episodes, maybe the network would have given the show half a chance? But then maybe not, I dunno.

Thankfully I have all the episodes recorded on DVR and will start watching them (and saving them to disc) soon. At least I'll have those to watch later on... (Wasn't sure if they had put out enough episodes for it to go to DVD eventually or not, which is why I saved them.)

Back to Medium...boy it's a bit of a downer so far this season! (Yeah, I know, it's only been 1 episode so far.) Hopefully things will get better for Allison and family later on. I'll still watch anyway, though -- I love the acting and the chemistry among the actors, as well as the storylines.

Yes, but I'm in the "take the easy and avoiding being sued route" sort of guy.

I just wish NBC's player didn't suck so badly. It kept dumping to a commercial for Orville Redenbacher popcorn in the middle of scenes. The worst part is, I almost never eat popcorn. The few times I have, it's never been the brand they were plugging. I'm an "Act II" guy... ;)

boy it's a bit of a downer so far this season! (Yeah, I know, it's only been 1 episode so far.) Yet realistic given the circumstances of both wage-earners being out of a job.

While who knows what goes on in a TV writers mind, they have certainly set up the possibility of Devalos opening up his own practice, employing both Allison and Scanlon with lots of friction between all parties and the new D.A.

Kinda like a new-age "Perry Mason". :)

Or Allison goes completely free-lance and continues to get gigs through the private tip line. That would give her the freedom to work from home, though it was always nice to see her at crime scenes.

It is always a daring move to mess with a formula that has worked, yet this does put another spin on how Allison can use her talents.

Heh no sooner did I mention the interesting openings medium had only to find that they did away with that kind of opening.

I did not see Agent Cooper getting killed in this episode though or how much worse it would be for Allison if he could be in her dreams whenever he wanted.
