I was wondering if its bad to smoke in a room with my Toshiba 65HM167? Is it ok every now and then? is it ok every day? or is it horrible for my TV and i should never do it?

You should never do it. You'll live longer and the tv will live longer.

I have not really noticed any increased failure in smokers homes as opposed to non smokers homes for RP's.

Your more worried about how your TV set deals with smoke more than how your lungs, and your friend's and family's lungs, deal with smoke?

Anyway... You'll have to clean the screen more often, as it will get that smokers teeth coloring if you don't. I don't know if it would penetrate to the inside and require you to clean the mirrors and bulb more often.

I wouldnt take the chance of smoke being in the room. Why chance of hurting a several thousand dollar piece of equipment when you can step in the other room or go outside.

Why worry about the tv? You can get a new one at the same time you get your heart/lung transplant.

If you smoke in your living room now? I'm not sure I'd change that just because you purchased a new display.

As stated already, lots of better reasons to quite smoking than the fact you purchased some new electronics. :)
