Is ATSC tuner going bad?

Last night I tried to tune to local HD channel 50.1. In DC area it is the HD broadcast channel for the CW network. One of my 20" Sharp LCD (I have 2) will not pick it up any longer. I have viewed the station many times. I retuned all the stations twice but this one tuner will not pick it up. It will not take a direct input of 50.1 either. I also had it on my remote's favorites and it dissapearred.

I have 5 ATSC tuners in the house. All the other 4 will pick up 50.1 and this bad one is upstairs in a bedroom and gets the most channels because it's antenna is higher than the other 4 ATSC TV's.

Still under warrenty. Anyone had to have a ATSC tuner in a TV replaced or heard of a tuner being unable to pickup select stations that is should?

The problem is not with your tuner, but many people in the DC market were not able to get a picture for WDCW-DT CW 50 last night. The station is on the air, putting out full signal strength. It is a weird problem because some tuner brands/chipsets are able to get the station, others are not. My Sony DHG-HDD250 DVR tuned to 50.1 just fine last night while the Samsung SIR-T451 could not. A rescan with the T451 did not fix it, but instead dropped the station from the channel list. I could tune to 51 which is the actual broadcast channel for WDCW-DT which reported a full 10 bars on signal strength, but could not read the station to get the PSIP data. WDCW-DT appears to have something messed up in the data they are sending out. I have not checked this morning to see if the problem is still there.

Check the Washington DC - Baltimore local thread, we have been discussing this: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=793124&page=138.

Thanks for the info. I also could get 50.1 on my Sony DHG-HDD250 but not the upstairs 20" Sharp. However, unless the problem was fixed this morning I could get 50.1 on the same identical 20" Sharp LCD in the Basement but not the one upstairs. I will test again this evening.
