I have a Westinghouse 37" LCD with no internal tuner. I'm totally clueless when it comes to OTA HD hardware, because I've had Comcast ever since I got this monitor. I want to drop Comcast and save $75 a month. What is my best bet for getting local HD channels? What should I be looking for and where? Another way to ask this is how does one get OTA ATSC on a computer monitor ?

It might help for you to tell us what knid of inputs you have for your monitor .

Initially - most of us would say you need to check out the Samsung DTB-H260F or there is some other unit that is getting good reviews here that can also do analog.

2 DVI's, 1 HDMI, 2 component, 1 VGA. I'd like to either use DVI or cmoponent.

If you want to use the Samsung tuner, you will need to get an HDMI-DVI cable, then use your analog audio out into your TV or the TOSLINK digital audio output into your A/V receiver. This will work - I did it into a Samsung LCD display and it worked just fine until I got my 32 inch Olevia TV

The Samsung also has component video out - again, you would use the analog audio out into the monitor or the TOSLINK digital audio output into an A/V receiver.
