I'm new to these forums so if this has been covered before, sorry. About a month ago I noticed a shadow across the top of the screen. It starts off in the very upper left corner, at the right side it's approx. 1" thick. This problem is present while watching DirecTV or DVD's, both connected by HDMI. If anyone has seen a problem like this I'd really like to know what it took to fix it. Also, I replaced the first lamp in March of '07, about 2 weeks ago the lamp reminder light came on. TV was purchased 11/05. How do others lamp lifes compare?

Not sure about your shadow, I'd have to see it. Possibly engine related. As for the lamp life reminder? It sounds like the lamp life reminder wasn't reset when the last lamp was installed. I believe that's accessible through the customer menu on the 27 series.

I started getting the same grey shadow on the top of my screen too. It starts from the left about 1.5" wide and ends to be about 1" in width on the right side. I thought it would go away when I replaced my bulb a couple of months ago, but it's still there. Now a few weeks ago, I'm getting this weird pixalation in the bright spots. I hope it's not the beginning of the end.

Light tunnel has collapsed, needs a new light engine unfortunately. call for service as it may be covered by the manufacturers warranty as it is a known issue.
