I'm having a problem where switching between activities (watch dvd & watch tv) my Harmon Kardon AVR 645 won't switch from HDMI to the CD setting (where i have the optical digital from the tv setup). Switching to DVD (which uses HDMI) always works, but going back to TV, gets hung up.

If I hit the help button it corrects itself, but I'd like to have it just work, so family members can use it.

From what I've read, this sounds to be an IR delay issue. I've fumbled around with the timing for hours, so I'm just going to ask. Does someone have the timing for the Harmony 880 and HK AVR 645, for these settings:

- Power On Delay
- Inter-key Delay
- Input Delay
- Inter-Device Delay

Did you try setting the repeats?

I have an 890 and a 347, so it might not be quite the same, but I've found I had to bump out some time periods to get it to work reliably. Here's my delay settings:

- Power On Delay: 7500
- Inter-key Delay: 200
- Input Delay: 1500
- Inter-Device Delay: 1500

There are other potential causes of your problem, thought, that you need to consider. First, repeats. You'll want to play with that to address timing issues. I have it hardwired to the IR in in the back of the receiver, and my "repeats" are at "2". Second, given that you're only having trouble going to CD from HDMI/DVD and not vice-versa, I'd tend to think you have an incorrect command in there when it's supposed to select the CD Input. If the 645 is anything like the 347, there were SEVERAL different discreet command options for each input. I had to monkey with it a little bit to make sure I got the right ones, so you should probably check that out as well. If that turns out to be the problem and you can't get them to work correctly, just figure out which button it is on the ridiculous H/K remote and "learn" the command. I had to do this for one of my inputs -- FM Tuner, I think.
