i have most of my stuff setup already. i can tell you the room is 11'4 by 11'4 with the ceiling being 9ft. i have my 7.1 setup and i was wondering what else i needed i can post pics if you guys need them. i have been on this site looking around for a bit and some of these people are just real serious about home theater. i am not like that but i do envy them, lol. anyways i have sat in the middle of the room and clapped and it echoes pretty bad. what do i need to do to fix this? i have seen posts about making boxes that trap sound. can i buy those online? or is something that i have to make? thanks guys and gals. i will post some pics if requested. skyler.

You could buy it online, it is not cheap however. I just made 4 of thsoe accoustic panel today for my room. It is quite easy, here is a very helpful link, i used this link's information to built mines.

The trick is getting the right amout, made from the right material (and thickness) in the right areas in the room to address all of the issues. Echos from clapping hands is a signal to you but realistically only a small portion of the audible spectrum.

If you're unsure, contact some different vendors. A good vendor will walk you through the best course of action for your room based on your budget.
