While searching for a HDMI to Component converter I found this XCON YUV HDMI to (YCbCr/YPbPr) Converter from a company called ExtenHD. I'm unable to post the link as this is my first post here.

This seems to be a new one. Will it work as advertised? I have a Phillips TV which support 1080i but it has only component and RGB inputs. I want to connect an upconverting DVD player to my TV. Is there any quality loss when conveting from HDMI to Component?

The last line states specifically that if the source is HDCP compliant, it will not work, so it really depdends on your DVD Player.
