hey guys,

I just purchased a Harmony 890 remote and just finished setting everything up... Everything was working fine and all activities worked flawlessly, I used the power button on the harmony to turn everything off and now for some reason whenever i press an activity button everything turns on correctly except for my tv... any ideas why? I have tried troubleshooting it with no success, i can get it to come on by using the help feature, but i do not want to have to use that everytime since it kinds of defeats the purpose... tv is panasonic th-50px60u... thanks in advance

I have the same setup and a 58px60u and don't have that issue.

How are you controlling your tv? IR from the remote, IR emitter from the RF base, or IR flasher from the base? My guess is that you are controlling it using IR from the remote, but you are not keeping the remote pointed at the tv during the entire activity macro. I placed the RF base under my tv's IR receiver having it stick out about an inch. I then set the tv to be controlled by the flasher. Doing this I keep all my components RF controlled so I don't have to maintain line-of-sight with the remote itself.

Also, make sure you are using discrete power codes for the tv and not power toggle.

i leave it aimed at the tv the entire time... it worked fine until i used the harmony off button... i thought with this tv there is no dedicated on/off codes just a toggle and if there is how do i change this?

Go back into the device setup and I think it is under troubleshooting and then something to do with power. There are discrete codes for your TV since I use the same thing for mine.
