Hey, on my HDTV, I can tune to the channels 3.1 and 82-720 (maybe its 82.720?)
But on Media Center and WinTV, I can't enter decimals or dashes...
Is there a setting I need to enable to do this?
-Thanks.
ps: I have a WinTV HVR-950 Tuner. It supports HDTV. I know I get HDTV in the air, and I also get it in my standard cable
The only chanels I want is Fox HD, BNC HD, etc, the locals. I live in College Station, TX (Bryan area)

I may face this problem with a new computer having a digital tuner card I'm on the verge of buying. So I read on another forum that to solve this problem you have to go to the Guide, then to Settings > TV > Guide > Add My Channels > Add DTV Channels > Type in Channel Number.
I assume this means the actual channel number and presumably has to be done for each channel. I don't have a clue whether this works, nor indeed whether it makes sense!

That is indeed how it works (I had the same issue with MCE 2005; Vista Media Center did not fix this issue). However, the presence of subchannels with separate programming (such as WETA-DT's three additional subchannels besides their HD channel) merely exacerbates the issue. Have a TV tuner on your PC with ClearQAM? I shudder to think how you cope (I have a plasma with ClearQAM in my bedroom; naturally, except for HD OTAs, and not even all of those, my channel lineup is a major mess).
Fortunately, my PC's HD tuner is OTA-limited (ATI HDTV Wonder), though I *am* thinking about replacing it with the ClearQAM version (TV Wonder 650 in PCI).
I don't know about WinTV, but on Media Center 2005, the channels on my ATSC tuner stick (I have a dual analog tuner card and a third USB ATSC stick) show up as four digit channel numbers. 1 - 100 tune analog cable channels and 1000 and up tune OTA digital. For example, our NBC affiliate is Channel 4 (WDIV). If I press "4" I get Channel four via analog. To bring up WDIV-DT, I enter 1041. For Weather Plus on the subchannel, I enter 1042.
The setup is a little different for digital. Once you "tell" Media Center you have a digital card, it downloads program guide data for all the stations around you. You have to go into the "Digital TV Antenna Signal Strength" tab under Settings -> TV and click on the stations you want to show up in the guide.
I don't have a QAM card, so you're on your own, there.

You may have better luck in the HTPC section also.
