I just bought a Pioneer upconverting DVD player (DV-400). I am using it on a Panny 42" 720p plasma.

My question is, is there any benefit to having the player upconvert to 1080p and letting my tv scale it back down to 720p or should I just set it for 720p?

Also, will I get a better picture with component or HDMI?

Thanks

The less conversion, the better (each scaling loses some picture information) Fast enough for ya?
