My new 550 does not control my Oppo properly. The play button brings up the set up issue along with the arrow keys, etc. The buttons are all over the place and none of them works as marked. I am frustrated and am thinking that I spent a good piece of cash on a piece of garbage. :mad:

Any ideas?

Did you confirm in the activity setup that the buttons are mapped correctly? That Play is mapped to Oppo Play?

Yes, when I go into the customize area, it says play is DVD device and Play function.

I also confirmed this in the area where you can assign buttons with the IR functionality.

In actual use, my UR is useless for my DVD. It seems to be fine for my tv and receiver.

Which Oppo do you own? I remember on mine, a 970, there was a weird deal with different versions of the remote. Have you updated the Oppo firmware? Maybe you need to learn the buttons manually or pick a different device during setup. I'd check out oppodigital.com support.
