This is one of my favorite movies and I recorded it to DVHS the other night and had a chance to do a side by side realtime comparison to the special edition DVD.

Even on my 42" plasma...the difference is significant. The DVD print is dirty in spots with lots of dropouts (white specs). The HDNET print is significanty better with 99% of the dropouts eliminated and most of the dirt removed. Of course the HD version was also sharper than the mushy DVD (although not as sharp as many HDNET movies).

I am really glad I recorded this since I have not heard anything about this appearing on optical HD.
