On advice from a Directv tech person, I removed the B Band Converter to see if that got rid of some pesky pixilation (no other probs of any kind). It got rid of the satellite signal altogether! Putting the converter back in did not help..."Searching for signal" After trying reset, unplugging, again trying with the converter in and the converter out...no signal. The tech person decided my unit, H20-600, had just gone bad and would send me a new one.
Being a curious person, I removed the B Band converter from the receiver in the other room, which had been working perfectly....you guessed it, now there is no signal detected by that unit either. Of course, have tried reset, unplugging, with and without the converter.
So, the tech set up an appt. for service, which will be in about two weeks due to my schedule. No TV of any kind for two weeks.
Unless someone out there has some idea of how to get these two units to start detecting the satellite???

did you only have one line going in to the back of your box?

Bend the pins on the BBC's and/or coax? Hooking to the wrong input? Just removing the BBC shouldn't stop you from receiving a feed.

THe BBC is needed for the 103b satellite. I would think that you should still get the channels off of the other satellites with out the BBC.

Is "searching for ..." on all channels or just certain ones. If it's all channels check all of your connections outside. If it's just certain channels than it's possible your dish has gone out of alignment. If you were getting pixilation on all channels, that sounds like a dish alignment problem.

If your problem is limited to just the 103b, then it could be the box. Sometimes the H20 can get very temperamental with the 103b.

You could also try doing a "force download" of the software for your box.
