I helped my son install a CM 3671 yesterday. Results on analog(all UHF) are excellant. Results on all UHF digital transmissions are excellant. There is a problem with digital transmissions on VHF - channel 4 and channel 13 - we do not get enough signal that a scan of the digital receiver can pick these 2 up. There appears to be one dipole connection near the UHF end of the antenna and we are using this for the feed line(RG-6). We installed the "harneses" on the VHF end across the joint betwenn the 2 sections per instructions. Do we need to wire btween the UHF end and the VHF end? Any ideas on how to get the VHF signal up would be appreciated.
Placing the balun leads on the provided posts should be sufficient. No extra wiring needed. Those two stations from Lex may be a little tough depending on where his location is.Need more info as to location, zip, terrain path.
MAX HD - thanks for the response - here is more detailed information.
We went to antennaweb.org for our info - zip where our antenna is 41031. Stations are in Lexington, KY. The two stations in question are at 193 degrees and 183 degrees from the antenna location.
WKYT analog and digital have same bearing and distance - probably on same tower. Analog(27) is fine. 27-1 is on VHF channel 13 and insufficient signal for receiver.
WDKY analog and digital have same bearing and distance - probably on a common tower also. Analog(56) is fine. 56-1 is on VHF channel 4 and insufficient signal for receiver.
Not a lot of power on 4 and 13 is directional to the SE.Try a preamp maybe.Get the antenna higher might help. With a good UHF setup you should be able to get XIX from Cincy on 29,or DRB on 49 from Lou for FOX.Are you seeing any analogs on VHF from Lou or Cincy? 5,9,12,3,11
I'll have my son look for other VHF channels although it will be a few days before he can get back to it. We set the azimuth as close as we could to split the difference between 183 and 193 and it works for the analog UHF versions so it would seem that it is pointed correctly.

WDKY-DT channel 4 is going to be difficult to pick-up. VHF-LO digital stations tend to be problematic. WDKY will only have 1 other full power station to accompany it on channel 4 in 2/09.
WKYT-DT channel 13, however, should be relatively easy to pick-up.
Are any analog VHF signals coming in?
Perhaps UHF WKRC and WXIX can fill in the CBS and FOX gaps, but a rotor would be needed in that case. WKRC is going back to VHF 12 in 2009, however.
