View Full Version : HDMI repeater morepower_16 01-13-08, 10:35 AM Monoprice offers two different repeaters and I'm looking for opions on which one works better. Any comments? LordofDoubleD 01-13-08, 10:02 PM I bought the "fancier (silver)" one and it is self-powered. I have the Onkyo 805 and at the end of a 25' run I could not get enough power to the repeater - so it got returned. I have tried the phoenix gold and also the gefen $250 repeater they both work the same. The phoenix gold is on Amazon for $68.00. Good luck -DD thebigeast44 01-31-08, 10:23 PM I purchased the Monoprice extender/repeater as well - it did not work for me in my setup either: Onkyo 705 receiver to Panny AX-200; 6ft cable into extender from Onkyo and 25 foot cable to Panny - both 1.3 HDMI cables. However, the Phoenix Gold is working - with the power adaptor plugged in. Without the power adapter plugged in, it performs like the Monoprice - meaning it does not work. I plan to continue to test it the next few days. Certainly the Phoenix Gold is much less expensive than the Gefen models or something similar. My other option was to go with a longer top of the line Blue Jeans cable. I may still go for it - we'll see. |
