pq very solid. nice color. main cams sharp, with no pixelation. good turf. closeups good with no pixelation. no noise. overall picture might be a tad dark, but i think that's a stadium issue.

aq quite good as well. good and immersive. center channel is a bit hot.

comcast south jersey.

+1 here in Boston here as well (Comcast). FOX football broadcasts are very disappointing when compared to CBS week in and week out. Most noticable to me is the lack of definition on FOX when viewing crowd shots. Don't even get me started on the FOX scorebar that covers waaaay more screen real estate than necessary, and the decision to "shade out" the entire area above it. I am not sure why FOX believes that is a good idea???

Probably the same guy with NBC that thinks graying out the area below their scorebar with a horrible honeycomb pattern is a good idea.

The Fox scorebar used to look worse - when they had a scrolling herringbone pattern up there, looked like there was something wrong with your TV. Edit: I see it's still up there, although very faintly.

Watching the game now on XETV HD, FOX in San Diego over TWC.

Overall PQ acceptable - it is MUCH better than the Crappy Blocky Sucky (CBS) game I just watched on KFMB HD.

God that was an awful broadcast on my set - massive macroblocking on ANY motion.

The PQ I'm getting now is a bit soft on the far away shots and the cable cam is a bit soft, but the motion is much better than the garbage I had to put up with on CBS.

Thank goodness no network is the sole broadcaster for games!

Patriots have dominated all prime time ratings this year. I'm sure part of that is due to people tuning in to watch the record continue or end. As much as Cowboys fans wish the Cowboys were America's team, they're not. And ratings back that up. America's Team is pretty much the entire NFL now. Which is why every other sport is envious.

Curious to see tomorrow's ratings. I'll bet you a beer the Cowboys game wins.

If you are trying to compare the draw of the Cowboys (based on your locale) vs. the draw of the Pats, this weekend is not exactly a fair comparison. Given the difference in game times and dates, as well as the fact that the Pats played Jaxonville, which is not a huge fan base when compared to a New York team, I would be surprised to see the Pats game get higher ratings as well. Though you never know, 17-0 is bound to attract some viewers.

Hate commercials? Hate it when the announcer reads a commercial during the game?
Turn your center channel level down all the way (not volume control but speaker level) on the amp.

He's at their level? He's thrown 45+ TDs in a season when? He's lead his team to the SB when? He's won the league MVP when? Yeah, shhhhhhhhh, let the adults talk.

The adults are talking, Mr. Skyehille.

This is Romo's first full season. Lets compare first full season numbers-

Romo ---- 4,211 yards -- 36 TD's -- 97.4 QB rating
Peyton --- 3,739 yards -- 26 TD's -- 71.2 QB rating
Brady ---- 3,764 yards -- 28 TD's -- 85.7 QB rating

And I am being very generous with Brady. That is his third year numbers. His second year numbers are worse:

Brady ----- 2843 yards -- 18 TD's -- 86.5 QB rating

Brady has been in the league 8 seasons and this is his first year with more than 30 TD passes. Prior to this season he never had more than 28. I'd say Randy Moss's catching 23 TD passes is the reason for Brady's 50 TD's this season.

Romo makes everyone around him better. He is going to be better than Brady.

Well I guess Tony and Peyton can compare notes while they're watching the NFC and AFC championship games, can't they.
Quote stats all you want, the most important stat is the numbers that follow HOME and VISITOR.
A great quarterback wins the BIG GAMES. Like I said above Tony Romo is a good QB. Not great, not Brady, not Manning, not Favre and not a lot of others. He has a very promising future as do many QB's.

In case you missed it, Romo is now 0-2 in playoff games. Romo now has 0 SB wins.

You know, I'm a Colts fan, I lived in Indy for four years before moving to CA, and I never ever ever stopped hearing about how Peyton was a great quarterback who couldn't win the big game. Ever since he was in college he hadn't won the big one, and even though he's been to the pro Bowl 8 years in a row, it wasn't until last season that he finally won a Super Bowl.

Romo may be 0-2 now, but it wasn't even a year ago that people were saying these same things about Peyton. I'm not a Cowboys fan or even a Romo fan in the slightest, but you gotta give Romo at least a little bit of credit. The kid will be good.

Of course, on the flip side, if Romo wants to be truly great, he needs to throw more than 3700 yards every single season (over 4000 all but two of those seasons), over 26 touchdowns every season, and be named to the Pro Bowl every single year for the next 8 years.

A couple League MVPs wouldn't be so bad, either.

It doesn't break any of the rules. If it did, you'd also have to flag people for giving the football to a kid in the stands after a TD. Now if he had done that after being knocked out of bounds without scoring a TD, he'd get flagged for delay of game.

Amen, Dallas fans need to be realistic now. Their best coaches and personnel people are being cherry-picked, which means Jerry Jones is going to be taking more of a role in picking players (he's failed miserably at that for years prior to Parcells), their coach has never won the big games and as everyone knows is just a placeholder for Garrett or possibly the next big name on the list, and their star WR is a frickin' headcase. Meanwhile over in GB they've got tons of cap money, tons of young players, and an amazing coach. Good time to be a Packers fan, bad time to be a Cowboys fan. I don't care about either team, but I enjoy it more when Dallas fails. Imagine that.:D

I'll deny this next year, but I can now safely say that I actually like Romo. The whole Mexico vacation/Jessica Simpson ("Yoko Romo" is funny as hell) is hogwash - just something for the fans to latch on to so the blame is directed away from the team.

Romo wasn't the problem - not even looking only at the passing game. His receivers let him down. In fact, if I didn't know better (come to think of it, I actually don't know better) - I'd guess Crayton had some serious gambling debts he paid off last weekend. ;)

I also stand by my post from the end of the first half. They were idiotic to not chuck up a hail mary. Why give up? The odds of a reception or penalty are far greater than the chance the defense would run it back for a TD.

Romo did completely lose his composure late in the 4th Quarter..... not something you want to see from your quarterback in that situation.. no matter what's happening...

True, but only after endless miscues (penalties, dropped passes, etc.).

You can assign some blame, but the focus seems to be squarely on his shoulders - and directed specifically at his vacation. That's what I think is ridiculous.

CP, you are precisely correct in your analysis, and Romo is not to blame. But any chance to put "Yoko Romo" out there in the thread is too rich to pass...

The vacation destination should have been a non-story, but wall-to-wall bloviators must find topics of interest.

thats the same argument most yankee fans use and it doesnt work for us either...

Also us Celtics fans too, we always get the "But what have you done for me lately" line. Oh well, maybe this year will be different!

Dropping two straight to the Wizzards sure can't make you feel good. But hey, we got the Knicks so we feel like crap all the time.

Romo lost his cool at the end.... sorry but when he drove 90 yards for the touchdown... He practically picked off the giants to get the score and now in the 4th quarter... you need to keep your cool... i mean stupid penalities and get pissed at your line isnt cutting it... its not entirely his fault but he takes 70% for commanding that drive...

plus he threw into double coverage....

I'm surprised no one has put any blame on Coach Coma, I mean Wade Phillips. This team had no direction the last month of the season and they were not ready to play Sunday like they should have and that starts from the coach. Like I said when the season began that the Cowboys will be hindered in the end because of the coach they have, well now you see why I felt that way. Any odds on if he'll be back next year? Mr Jones did not look too happy at the end of that game! :D

Someone has been listening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio this morning. I could've swore I heard the exact same thing this morning regarding the Pack.

If he's going to accept all the praise for the Cowboys winning, he better be willing to accept the blame when they lose. He lost his composure for sure, but the fault for their loss can be placed squarely on Crayton and their offensive Line.

Since we're talking all-time records, let's mention that the Cowboys have been to the most SuperBowls, and are tied for most SB wins.

Just for balance.

They are no longer relevant -- 1996.

I'll deny this next year, but I can now safely say that I actually like Romo. The whole Mexico vacation/Jessica Simpson ("Yoko Romo" is funny as hell) is hogwash - just something for the fans to latch on to so the blame is directed away from the team.

Yet you can't do that in the middle of the playoffs. He had to know it would draw unwanted heat to the team and be a distraction. It could not negatively affect his game, along with Jason W.'s, but not a smart move.
Especially when your team limped into the playoffs.

I heard Tony say on PTI yesterday, that it was Jessica’s dad that alerted the Paparazzi as to their whereabouts. Otherwise, its possible no one would have known because of the short amount of time there. This is a way overblown topic, but that is what today’s media does and the public sucks it up.
