Hi,

I understand that this DVR upscales to 1080i, but why then is there no option to set the TV output to 1080i? The best I get is 16:9 480i or 480p. When playing DVDs on a Sony Bravia (Full HD 1080) the picture quality is fine, but when I pass through cable output through the DVR via S-Video the picture quality is horrible. There's snowing all over the map.

What am I doing wrong here?

To get the upscaling on the EZ-27 you will need to use HDMI out. If you do this you will get the highest output your display is capable of. You will only get 480p via the S and composite out. I can't remember from my EZ-27 if I was able to get anything better than 480p via the component outputs. Some devices can, some cannot. I only used HDMI with my EZ-27, and did get up to 1080i according to my display.
