Comedic and creative, this blue comedy troupe's latest show hits HDNet Sunday, January 20, 8:30 pm ET

For those who haven't yet experienced Blue Man Group (and especially for those who have) their debut in high definition will definitely be a television event that you can't miss!

On Sunday, January 20 at 8:30 p.m. HDNet will present Blue Man Group in all their frenetic glory with a performance from their latest tour, "How to be a Megastar 2.1." The performance was captured late last year at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

The Blue Men are three energetic yet mute performers who wear blue grease paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing. Their shows are equal parts modern-day vaudeville, and multi-sensory rock concert, complete with physical comedy, stunning visuals, and rock music played in true Blue Man fashion.

This upcoming performance on HDNet takes the audience through a satirical "workshop" on how to create "the perfect rock concert experience." In the process, the Blue Men celebrate, skewer and otherwise deconstruct rock stardom in all of its narcissistic glory. In the show, the Blue Men obtain a"how-to manual" that takes the audience through a uniquely clever and interactive show that guarantees to deliver hypnotic entertainment for all ages.

"The Blue Man Group experience will be unreal in high definition," said Mark Cuban, president and co-founder of HDNet. "All the colors, lights and sight gags will totally come to life on the screen at home. It will be the closest thing to actually being there."

The Blue Man Group - How to be a Megastar Tour 2.1 is currently touring the US and is produced by Emery Entertainment and Pacific Arts Entertainment.

I am surprised this is happening while they are still touring this, they are presenting this show in my town in 2 weeks. I wonder if my wife will let me off the hook and just let us watch it in HD...

I, too, saw them in Las Vegas. This group is completely different than anything I have ever seen before ...a really, really good show. A group of us went ...I think the tickets in Vegas were nearly $100 each. A wacky presentation but great music. Samples below:

Wife and I have seen them 4x now (Vegas, NYC, Complex Tour twice). I wish we got HDnet. :(

Seen them in Chicago 4 or 5 times, in Vegas, plus the Rockstar tours 1.0 and 2.0. It's definitely worth seeing live.

I live in chicago and saw them about 5 years ago. I still keep wanting to see their show again especially since it's been updated a couple times since then. I'll be sure to DVR the show though.

I've never forgiven them for not adding Tobias Funke to their group. He wanted it so badly. Buncha' blue meanies is what they are.

I set up my DVR a few days ago, so as not to forget Sunday after watching the games. I have a BDay party on Saturday, my own.

I get the reference, but disagree. He should have gotten blue that didn't run - he wouldn't have made it through a single show before "melting".

I got my DVR set up, too. DirecTV - HDNet - Channel 79, Sunday January 20 at 8:30 EST. The show was filmed in high definition this past fall during a performance at the American Airlines Arena here in Dallas, Texas.

I've been hoping HDNet would air one of their concerts for a long time and they have finally granted my wish. I DVR'd the Sunday night show and it was great and the sound was just as good!
I hope to see then live some day.

Looked like some of their other stuff repackaged. Some stuff was from the Vegas show. 90% of the songs were from the Complex tour. Overall, nothing really new.

There is more than one group of Blue Men.

I wish HDnet would offer it for DL on their website like they did with the shuttle special a few years back. Anyone know if it will be available for sale?
