Man I feel like an idiot.

Back in my college days, I knew every feature of every component. Fast forward to now, and I'm pretty much lost.....

We've picked up a Pioneer 5080 plasma to replace our Pro-610HD. All of our components are in another room. I have a Pioneer VSX-80TXV receiver that I use in the basement, and I am thinking it might be best to bring that upstairs and replace our RX-V1. Pioneer has this cool system remote deal that would allow my remote signals from the plasma to control the receiver in another room, if I understand correctly? What would be PERFECT, is if it would also pass the IR signals to a IR blaster to control the other components. Possible?
