My neighbor just purchased a Sony KDL-40SL130 from BJ's and cannot program her DirecTV remote (RC16) to control the TV.

Any idea what TV code should be used on the remote?


I tried looking on Sony's WEB site but they do not even list the 40SL130. I also looked at DirecTV's site and they do not list the RC16. Her receiver is only 3 years old.

I'll send a box of home-made cookies to teh person who can give me informationthat will make the remote work with her TV.

I have this TV, got it at Costco for $999.

I also have DirecTv, and I have a DirecTv HD DVR feeding it via HDMI and it looks fantastic. My remote is the RC64 however.

I had no problem setting up the DirecTv using the on screen set up for the remote to control the TV. Perhaps her receiver and remote are older, but there should be some sort of "search" function on the remote.

My neighbor finally convinced DirecTV that the remove was not working so they sent her a new one. The new one is a different model and is works great.
