chicomoralessxm 01-15-08, 05:10 AM Any suggustions guys what about monitor audio?
I am not sure where you are at, but the majority of members of this forum are in the US, and it is the wee hours of the morning. So there are not too many active members around!;)
PR Audio 01-15-08, 06:26 AM Monitor Audio Silver pair nicely with NAD, also does PSB, as they are owned by the same parent company as NAD and do a lot of reasearch together. PSB B25 are a nice complement, but they are below your budget ($325.00), and you can find better for $600.00, but audition them, you might like them and stay under budget. Check www.saturdayaudio.com
There is a company that has a clearance on Tannoy Saturn S6 demos at $549.00/pr, and clearance on brand new A-Stock Triangles (French), which are within your budget. Both are excellent speakers and you should consider based on their price. Check www.upscaleaudio.com

Certainly try Triangle. Either the Titus or Comete's are in your price range. Superb monitor speakers that are outstanding for music. Some of the best I have ever heard.
Mason530 01-15-08, 09:16 AM Dali....I was in San Fran last month. I had a dealer to hook up Dali and NAD master series. It went together very well.

I have dealt with andy before really cool guy hats what led me to ask about the MA S2 their is also a dealer in CA Audiowaveshifi I was looking at the Cometes or the titus. Since i can't audition any of these since outside the US i'm looking for the speaker that will give me the most oomph. I'll prob narrow it down to the Triangle Titus, MA S2, and the Polk Lsi7

That's far from a bargain. You can sometimes find a pair of S8's(S6's larger brother) for half that.

I love when people talk about a great deal without any links, names, or proof. It is always helpful when that information is given.
To the OP...I've dealt with Andy and agree with you that SA are great guys.
Let us know what you finally decided.
Alpha_231T 01-17-08, 11:07 AM I would recommend a pair of Totem Mites. I used to have a NAD T773 AVR running a 5.1 Dreamcatcher setup and it sounded fantastic.

atdamico 01-17-08, 11:55 AM Here is a link to a review of the Triangle Titus 202's. Keep in mind that they are the earlier versions and the newer ones are even better. These speakers have the most fantastic mid-range of any speaker I have ever heard, at any price. I still own a pair along with a pair of cometes, and a Triangle Nabis 222 center channel. For HT they must be paired with a good sub.

IMO, Polk Lsi is not as good as the MA Silver S2, or the Triangle Titus. Of those two I would go with Triangle, but MA is more popular.
chicomoralessxm 01-17-08, 02:15 PM I would prefer a real wood veneer over the vinyl wrap myself. Plus its for music mainly and i dont want to add a sub. I was thinking he MAS2 (if any are left) would have better mid bas extention since welli enjoy both night tight controlled bass.
PULLIAMM 01-17-08, 02:18 PM There is really no such thing as speakers that "go with" a given amp, except in the sense of having sufficient power to drive them.

Yes and No...Amps and receivers have unique SQ "personality". Some can emphasize the high's, others voices (forward), some are more neutral, some are better with HT sounds, others with music, etc.
NO, because...A speaker that tends to be neutral and warm will benefit of a receiver with the same qualities, or if you prefer more highs in your music, then a receiver with better high notes will help your speaker emphasize somewhat more those notes, etc.
YES, because...In most cases, you will never notice the difference, you have to be really paying attention, and have an educated ear.
Mine is not educated to that point.
