Plan to install Lutron IR dimmers for sconces and cans. Need info on what wiring to run to control dimmers with Harmony 880 pointed at screen. Plan to use buffalo receiver and IR repeater setup for a/v components. Do I use this also for dimmers and how? Do I need to run cat5e to each dimmer?Appreciate any info.
Thanks

The previous information was of some help. I need more specific info as to how I get dimmers to work through IR with Harmony 880. Wiring needs and how to set up. I understand how to get a/v equipment set up just not sure about dimmers. I need basic info please.

i have Lutron Maestro IR dimmer working with my logitech for xbox360 remote and they work wonderfully. my IR receiver switch for my lighting is behind my seating and at an angle. if the remote isn't hidden it still works.

in your situation i might install the master IR receiver Lutron switch right next to your av stuff so you just point it at that and it all turns on. then you have the slave switches placed throughout the room.

as far as the wiring goes my dimmers are wired just like a typical multi-location switch with an added control wire.

Thanks for your info. My a/v equipment is in the back of my room. I want to be able to control lights and a/v equip. by IR pointing my remote at the front of the room. All my dimmers are in one location on the side wall. What type of master IR switch do I need to allow all dimmers (4) to work with my remote (Harmony 880) with IR? Is the control wire you mentioned a cat5e wire and do I need one for each dimmer? I hate to sound so dumb about this--I just want to do it right. I need this explained in simple terms.
Thanks
