I just installed this receiver with Polk RM10's. I notice I have to turn the volume on the receiver to 40 just to hear normal audio. I also have to turn up my TV or DVD audio to very high to hear sound.

Does this mean my receiver is not strong enough?

I have the 304 as well. (Polk R150's and a CSR center channel here, though) I usually listen to TV and DVDs at like 40-45 on the receiver. Although, for some reason, when I play Xbox 360, the volume at like 30-35 sound loud enough.

It also may have something to do with how far you sit from your speakers.

I have the same receiver along w/ Polk R50s. I always listen to it around the 30-40 range.
