I used to play around with my brother's Sansui receiver back in 1980-82. I was 9 that time. It was easy to setup because I always watched him how he connects it. The wires were thin and colors black and red. I remember, the Sansui receiver only had left and right speaker inputs.
The receiver was in the family room. Then on that same room, we had an AKAI wooden turntable/tape/fm|am(8'x2'x26") where I took 2 speakers.
Anyways, on the Sansui receiver, 2 Pioneer speakers were already connected. It looks like this (http://www.whitebuckpublishing.com/treasure/images/hpm-100443x417-sold.jpg)
Anyways, I also connected the AKIA speakers to the same input ports. That means, on the LEFT input, there were 2 speakers connected. On the RIGHT input, there were 2 speakers connected also. It worked for a long time(5+ years). Unfortunately, he sold it.
I know that newer receivers have 5.1/7.1 outputs. However, do you think if I put 2 not-so powerful speakers on one channel, it will be fine for the amp?
